Data Privacy; Design; Development | 2021 @ New York University | JavaScript |
As data privacy being an issue of today's digitalizing world, people worry about leaking private data and
being monitored which makes them feel insecure.
It reminds me of my childhood, we would share little secrets by creating our own language like
a cipher. One way to analyze voice messages is by first translating them into text, so what
if we mess up the voice message?
Based on this context, “Whisper” was born and built by me and Lin Han, 12/12/2021.
Users can record an audio file to encrypt with customized encrypting keys (Whisper supports more than 1 time of encryption,
the order matters) and then download the processed audio cipher and send it to friends. After receiving the
processed audio cipher and the key, their friends can upload this file, type in the key in order, and get the
original audio.
